About

The source

The domain model and strategic design rules of Alveolus build on Implementing Domain-Driven Design by Vaughn Vernon (Addison-Wesley, 2013), together with hands-on practice of NestJS and TypeScript. The architecture and placement rules come from that practice and from the default choices of Alveolus.

The rules are rephrased: no passage of the book is reproduced. They are reorganized by theme, adapted to TypeScript and NestJS, and extended with default choices specific to Alveolus (see the default choices).

For depth on the substance, the book remains the reference. This site does not aim to replace it.

How the rules evolve

A rule has a stable code: it is never reused for anything else. A new theme is first announced as coming, with its prefix reserved, and appears in the navigation with its first rule. A new decision shows up as an Our choice paragraph in the rules concerned, and as a row in the default choices.
